On 16 July 2021,  the prosecutor submitted his opinion regarding the 19 human rights defenders who are on trial at the Ankara 39th Penal Court of First Instance and charged them with “participating at an unauthorised demonstration” and “refusal to disperse despite warnings” during the Pride March organised by METU LGBTI+ Solidarity club on 10 May 2019, on the campus grounds of Middle East Technical University.

7 August 2020

On 6 August 2020, LGBTI+ human rights defenders Margot and Lania were released from prison and charged with "insulting monuments" under Article 261 of the Criminal Code.

On 3 and 4 August 2020, Margot and Lania, two LGBTI+ rights defenders who go by pseudonyms for security purposes, were arrested in Warsaw for placing rainbow flags into the hands of several statues in the Polish capital.

20 October 2021

On 18 October 2021, the indictment against woman human rights defender Pham Doan Trang was made public. She has been charged under Article 88 of the 1999 Penal Code for “propagandising against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam”. The indictment is dated 30 August 2021 but was only made available to the woman human rights defender and her attorneys merely two weeks before her case goes to trial on 4 November 2021.

On 20 August 2020, human rights defender Jolovan Wham was sentenced to 10 days’ imprisonment for organising an event in 2016. The sentence is due to commence on 21 August 2020.

30 May 2019

On 21 May 2019, The Istanbul 14th Heavy Penal Court convicted Eren Keskin of “propagandising for a terrorist organisation” under Article 7(2) of the Anti-Terror Law and sentenced her to 3 years and 9 months in prison. The trial against her was related to the articles published in Özgür Gündem when she was the co-editor-in-chief.

24 November 2020

On 15 November 2020, the Karada Court of First Instance in Baghdad dismissed the dissolution case against the Organisation of Women's Freedom in Iraq (OWFI), and ordered the Council of Ministers to pay for all the expenses of the trial.

On 17 September 2020, the third hearing session of the Organisation of Women's Freedom in Iraq took place at the Karada Court of First Instance in Baghdad.
