#Minority Rights

Minority rights are the normal individual rights as applied to members of racial, ethnic, class, religious, linguistic or sexual minorities; and also the collective rights accorded to minority groups.

The UN Declaration on the Rights of Persons belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities was adopted by General Assembly resolution 47/135 of 18 December 1992, which laid out rights enshrined in international law for minority groups, while also detailing the responsibilities and obligations of states to protect the rights of minority groups and peoples.
