On 17 May 2013, a pamphlet was pushed under the door of the office of Comité Mujeres Corteras de Caña which read: “Death to Alfamir and her lawyers for messing with the wolves and fishes". At that time, Jorge Eliecer Molanowas the lawyer of Alfamir Castillo, whose son was victim of extra-judicial killing in 2008.

On 13 February 2013, three shots were fired at the vehicle of Father Alberto Franco. In the past, the human rights defender has been subjected to surveillance and acts of intimidation on several occasions.
On 23 July 2015, human rights defender Ms Nicolasa Díaz Ortiz received two anonymous telephone calls to her home in which her life was threatened.
Juan David Díaz Chamorro has faced repeated death threats. On 3 June 2013, an email was sent to Colonel Julián González, Chief of Police for Sucre, Colombia, informing him of a plan to kill human rights defender Mr Juan David Díaz Chamorro, his wife Ms Malena Martínez, and one other person closely linked to the family.
On 7 May 2012, the office of women's rights organisation Women's Link Worldwide in Bogotá was shot at, in an apparent attempt at targeting human rights defender Ms Mónica Roa.
On 16 November 2013, human rights defender and trade union leader Mr Óscar Arturo Orozco received a threatening email to both his institutional and personal email accounts. This threat arrived just days after he sustained injuries when his vehicle was attacked by unknown individuals. Since 2011 the SINTRAELECOL offices have been receiving a number of leaflets with messages cut-out from newspapers and magazines threatening the life of Oscar Arturo Orozco.
Throughout all of her career in the defence of human rights, Zoraida Hernández Pedraza has been subjected to constant threats and acts of intimidation against her. The level of harassment and danger to her life increased severely between 2011 and 2012 forcing her to move out of the country with her family.
On the evening of June 25 2014, the leaders of a movement for land restitution, Ms Yomaira Mendoza and Mr Enrique Cabezas, received via a text message a death threat against themselves, their family members and other human right defenders. Since 2005, lands right defenders have been victims of multiple threats and intimidations by illegal occupants of communal lands and neo-paramilitary groups of the region.
On 5 September 2015, a judge declared the arrest of human rights defender Mr Dagoberto Giraldo Henao unlawful and he was subsequently released. He may, however, still face charges.
On 4 September 2015, at approximately 3:45pm, he was arrested in the municipality of San Juan del Doncello, department of Caquetá, and falsely accused of rebellion and conspiracy to commit terrorism.
On the evening of 16 June 2014, trade unionist and human rights defender Mr José Onofre Esquivel Luna was the victim of an attempted killing in Medellín. The human rights defender was not injured during the shooting, which is the latest in a series of attacks and threats against trade unionists in Colombia.
Mr Wilson Jaramillo passed away from natural causes on 22 September 2013. On 4 August 2012 Mr Oscar Arturo Orozco and Mr Wilson Jaramillo had been shot at as they travelled to a meeting, despite the fact that they were travelling with Government provided security guards.
On 21 May 2011 human rights defender and journalist Mr Nelson Orrego received a death threat via email to his workplace, following the publication of articles relating to crimes committed by paramilitaries in Colombia.
