The National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders Uganda

The National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders Uganda (NCHRD-U) is a registered membership organization that was formed in June 2013 with aim of promoting and protecting human rights defenders (HRDs) and their work in Uganda. It is a membership organization comprising of over 200 registered organizations and individuals nationally.

Since its inception, the NCHRD-U has played a unique role of coordinating HRDs in Uganda to work collectively in promoting synergy, cooperation and collaboration to effectively advance the protection and safety for HRDs. It is guided by the General Assembly, the supreme decision-making body.

Mission: to promote and protect the work of HRDs in a safe and secure environment through linkages with National, Regional and International likeminded entities.

Vision: A society that upholds the dignity and Rights of every Human Rights Defender.
