El día de San Valentín con Raull Santiago: protegiéndote y protegiendo a tu comunidad

Día de San Valentín. Autocuidado. Obligación de cuidar. Derechos humanos. ¿Cómo se conecta todo esto? Escuche el primer episodio de Rights on the Line, producido por Front Line Defenders, para conocer el trabajo del galardonado defensor de derechos humanos brasileño Raull Santiago en las favelas de Río de Janeiro, cómo afecta a su vida familiar y su experiencia en el programa de pasantías de descanso y recuperación de Front Line Defenders.

Raull Santiago es defensor de derechos humanos de Río de Janeiro, Brasil. En marzo de 2014, cofundó el colectivo Papo Reto (Straight Talk), un grupo de ciudadanos periodistas que documentan la vida en la favela Complexo do Alemão. El grupo llama la atención sobre lo que está sucediendo en Alemão, destacando los casos de violencia policial y otros abusos contra los derechos humanos, que tienden a ser ignorados por los principales medios de comunicación. Su lema es: Nós por Nós (Por nosotros para nosotros), ya que el contenido que comparten es producido por residentes que viven en la favela y está dedicados a ellos.
