Lana Awad is a women’s rights defender and journalist, and a member of the Darfur Journalists Association. Her work focuses primarily on promoting women’s rights and defending health rights in Sudan. Lana Awad had previously worked for the Ministry of Health and Social Development, but was dismissed as a result of an article she wrote with Aida Abdel Qader, exposing the severity of COVID-19 in Al-Fashir city.
