Promo-LEX
Ion Manole is the Executive Director of Promo-LEX, a human rights and advocacy organisation. It was established in 2002 by a group of human rights defenders, with the aim of advancing human rights in the Republic of Moldova. Promo-LEX works on the entire territory of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region, and cooperates with Transnistrian NGOs to protect human rights in the region.

While the majority of human rights defenders can freely carry out their jobs, cases of judicial harassment of independent journalists persist. LGBTI rights defenders also face obstacles, in particular discrimination, insufficient protection and verbal and physical attacks.
