Lawyers’ Collective
Anand Grover is a senior advocate and former UN Special Rapporteur (UNSR) on the Right to Health (2008-2014). He co-founded the Dehli-based human rights organisation Lawyers’ Collective with Indira Jaising in 1981. Through his work with Lawyers' Collective, he has actively advocated for and represented human rights defenders including those jailed on false charges related to the Bhima Koregan violence in January 2018.
Human rights defenders in India face a diverse range of attacks and harassment from state and non-state actors alike, including killing, physical assault, arbitrary detention, threats and judicial harassment.
