Berik Zhagiparov

Berik Zhagiparov is the editor of Youth Newspaper, a publication which covers issues related to violations of human rights in Kazakhstan as well as collecting signatures for petitions to the national authorities. In particular the newspaper has been following the story of local workers employed by Kazakmys copper company. The labour union of the company's workers has long been campaigning for the improvement of working conditions as well as trying to mobilise the workers to strike.
