Donal Maher - Director of Finance and Operations

Donal has been Director of Finance and Operations since September 2025, overseeing the Finance, HR, IT, and Operations teams. Donal is a qualified accountant, and holds Masters from both the Smurfit Business School and the Institute of Public Administration in Ireland. He has over 20 years experience working in the charity sector, in areas such as finance, HR, IT, risk management, strategy, and governance. Prior to joining Front Line Defenders, Donal was Chief Operating Officer with Plan International Ireland.
