Human rights defenders face multiple forms of harassment aimed to intimidate them or hinder their activities. Examples include the freezing of bank account outside of any legal procedure; being followed for the purpose of intimidation; unjustified personal searches; phone calls or visits by authorities; forcing hotels to cancel the booking of a venue for an NGO event; etc.
