
Kyayo Mushempe Henry
Kyayo Mushempe Henry is a local community figureleader and resident of the Kabombwa area near Fungurume in the Lualaba province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He belongs to the Sanga tribe, mainly located in the south-east of the DRC.
President of the Comité de suivi des délocalisés du village Kabombwa (Monitoring Committee for People Displaced from the Village of Kabombwa), Kyayo Mushempe Henry is primarily known for his involvement in a high-profile legal dispute concerning the rights of the local communities and the activities of the mining giant Tenke Fungurume Mining SA (TFM). Furthermore, he undertook training on community leadership with AFREWATCH, known as the “École du Fleuve Congo”, an organisation with which he continues to collaborate.
