Justine Ijeomah

HRD, Chairman
Human Rights Social Development and Environmental Foundation

The threats we face are enormous, we face threats from the security agents, we face threats from the government, we face threats also from the armed groups, and the threats to life both to us and to human rights defenders and our organisation. We are often arrested and tortured and detained often.

Justine Ijeomah is a Nigerian human rights defender and Chairman of the Human Rights Social Development and Environmental Foundation, working to promote human rights and social justice in the Niger Delta region.

HRDs, often caught in the middle of the conflict, are increasingly targeted by both sides, and work under great fear and insecurity.
