Front Line Defenders tribute to Sally O'Neill, Ana Paula Hernandez, Ana Velasquez and Daniel Tuc

Front Line Defenders was shocked and saddened to hear the news of the death of Sally O’Neill, Ana Paula Hernandez, Ana Velasquez and Daniel Tuc in a car accident in Guatemala. Sally was well known to many of us in Front Line Defenders as a prominent advocate and defender of human rights in the Americas. Her perseverance and passion made a huge contribution to the struggle for social justice and human rights. We also had the privilege of working with Ana Paula who brought great energy and empathy to the support of those human rights defenders most at risk. They will be sadly missed but they have left a profoundly positive legacy through all of the people they supported and worked with during their lives. Our profound condolences go to Trócaire, The Fund for Global Human Rights, The Consejo de Pueblos WUXHTAJ and the families and friends of Sally O’Neill, Ana Paula Hernandez, Ana Velasquez and Daniel Tuc.
