Husham Ali Mohammad Ali (also called Husham Ali) is a 46-year-old Sudanese blogger and human rights defender. He contributes to various online forums and news websites. He published intensively on the practice of torture in Sudan, corruption on his social media accounts. He also supported the civil disobedience and social protesting movements in Sudan. The human rights defender has been living and working in Saudi Arabia as an accountant since 2010.

Human rights defenders, activists and individuals who criticise government policies or express dissent or diverging opinion to those of the authorities are subjected to harassment, surveillance, arbitrary detention, smear campaigns, prolonged and unfair trials. Family members of HRDs are also targeted and subjected to intimidation and harassment at the hands of the authorities.
