Dr. Khadim Hussain Dahot
Dr. Khadim Hussain Dahot is a noted lawyer and human rights advocate in Pakistan. He is the founder and Managing Director of Sewa Development Trust Sindh, a not-for-profit NGO that works to provide education, health and empowerment to underprivileged women, youth, and children, through live-streaming technology and the provision of learning facilities in the far-flung areas in the Sindh province of Pakistan. Dr. Dahot is also engaged in working for the rights of marginalized communities for peace and social harmony and works actively to counter violent extremism among vulnerable populations.
Pakistan’s record of impunity has emboldened hostile actors and fostered an increasingly violent climate for HRDs, who face high risks including killing, arbitrary arrest and detention, abduction and kidnapping, surveillance, threats and judicial harassment.
