Zimbabwe - Human rights defenders Ms Ellen Chademana and Mr Ignatius Muhamba released without bail conditions.
Subsequent to the Urgent Appeal sent on 25 May 2010, Front Line has received the following new information with regard to the detention of human rights defenders Ms Ellen Chademana and Mr Ignatius Muhamba, members of Gays and Lesbians of Zimbabwe (GALZ).

Front Line welcomes news that, on 27 May 2010, Ellen Chademana and Ignatius Muhamba were released without any bail conditions following their bail hearing at the Magistrate Court. They remain required, however, to report to the police twice weekly.Ellen Chademana, a receptionist, and Ignatius Muhamba, an accountant, were arrested on 21 May 2010 during a police raid on the offices of GALZ, purportedly to search for dangerous narcotics and pornographic material, citing contravention of Section 157 (1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23 and Section 32 (1) of the Censorship and Entertainment Control Act, Chapter 10:04.
