Iran - UPDATE Release of human rights defender while others remain in detention

Front Line welcomes the release of human rights defender, Mr. Abdoreza (Alireza) Tajik, who has been released on bail from Evin prison. Front Line remains deeply concerned about human rights defenders, Mr Abdolfattah Soltani, Mr Kayvan Samimi, Ms Jila Baniyaghoob and Mr Bahaman Ahamadi Amoee who remain in detention and have not been officially charged.

Front Line remains concerned at the continuing clamp down and arrest of human rights lawyers and human rights defenders suspected of involvement in recent events.

In regard to other cases reported recently to Front Line, Mohammad Mosatafaie, a human rights lawyer, was released, while Kambiz Noroozi, also a human rights lawyer, remains in custody.
