Kenyan: whistle-blower Sammy Moses Kibeti awarded a security grant worth 1888.00 Euro

In February 2012, Front Line Defenders awarded a security grant worth Eur1888.00 to the Kenyan whistle-blower and human rights defender Sammy Moses Kibeti.

This grant helped secure the release ofSammy Moses Kibet from police detention and paid for a court bond, legal fees and medical expenses.

Sammy was reportedly arbitrarily arrested and is facing trumped up charges for 'cheating' as a direct result of his reporting on alleged government corruption. Sammy works at a grass roots level mobilising youth demonstrations against corruption and has published information in the media.
