Honduran human rights defender Karla Maria Lara Pineda and her children
In November 2011, Front Line Defenders organised the temporary relocation of woman human rights defender Karla Maria Lara Pineda's three children to Argentina for 2 months.
Karla Lara sent the following feedback on the grant:
This support .. through AWID from Front Line Defenders has been very effective, full of human warmth, with a genuine concern that all was done in the shortest time possible and to make sure that I feel accompanied in this situation. I take this opportunity to thank you for all the support because there is no way to say "thank you" enough when the life of your sons and daughters are at risk.
Karla Lara is a member of the National Network of Women Human Rights Defenders in Honduras, which participates in the Meso-American Initiative of Women Human Rights Defenders.
