Dear Prime Minister
I am concerned at the intimidation of human rights defenders in Serbia.
I am particularly concerned at threats against Biljana Kovacevic-Vuco, Director of YUCOM, and other prominent human rights defenders. It is of particular concern that human rights defenders campaigning legitimately for investigations into human rights abuses committed during the war, or advocating for gay and women’s rights are frequent targets of attack and that the police appear unable to protect them.
I urge you to take immediate action to ensure that all human rights defenders in Serbia are able to work for human rights safely and without fear.
