Serbia - Helsinki Committee for Human Rights

The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia is a professional organisation working to promote the rule of law and protection of human rights. Due to ongoing violence and threats in Serbia the staff of the Helsinki Committee were seriously concerned for their safety. Front Line gave the Helsinki Committee €6,000 to install two security doors, a camera surveillance system and a monitoring system that includes a fire alarm and a glass break system. Additionally staff have been given special, individualized, cards which give them access to the office doors that registers their entry and exit. The installation of these new security systems has given the staff a greater peace of mind and reduced the psychological impact of threats on the office.
