Zimbabwe: members of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and WOZA released
All ten members of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and WOZA arrested have been released on bail in the late evening of 12.02.09, after spending two nights in police custody.

Charges against the members of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and WOZA, for "performing actions, uttering words or distributing or displaying writings, signs or other visible representation that is obscene, threatening, abusive or insulting, intending thereby to provoke a breach of the peace" (section 37 (1) (b) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act) are still pending. All ten defenders are due to appear in court on 4 March 2009 for commencement of the trial.
